The recent Spring Meeting held in Warsaw on March 22 – 23, 2024, was an exceptional event, bringing together individuals dedicated to Fertility Europe’s mission.
The ExCo meeting
It started with the whole-day ExCo meeting where many important issues were discussed and a lot of crucial decisions were made in preparation for the upcoming members’ meeting as well as for the future.
Together for Fertility
It was followed by our host-country association Nasz Bocian’s special event “Together for Fertility” marking the completion of a joint project of three FE members: Roda of Croatia, Zachatie of Bulgaria and Nasz Bocian of Poland. It provided a unique opportunity for us all to delve deeper into the organisation’s joint initiatives and impacts.
Members’ meeting
We started the next day early in the morning welcoming 32 delegates representing Fertility Europe member associations from across Europe. Throughout the gathering, we engaged in a series of productive meetings, covering various topics essential to Fertility Europe and our membership’s mission and objectives. These sessions were marked by robust discussions and collaborative efforts aimed at advancing the organisation’s goals.
We also received comprehensive updates on the latest FActs! project and developments relevant to this initiative. These updates served to inform and inspire our members in preparation for expanding FActs! to other European countries.
Strategy Workshops
Our Director General, Satu Rautakallio-Hokkanen, prepared Strategy Workshops for all of us. It was conducted to allow for the mapping of our needs and prospects and to facilitate strategic planning and decision-making processes. Through interactive sessions, participants explored the topic to address emerging challenges and opportunities effectively.
Members’ presentations
Our members had the opportunity to showcase their work and share insights through inspiring and impressive presentations. These presentations not only highlighted the diverse expertise within the community but also sparked meaningful discussions and collaborations. This is always such a great opportunity to learn from each other and this time was no different. Seeds of wisdom have been sown which we all will make good use of.
City tour and joint dinner
The first busy day concluded with a guided city tour which offered us a chance to explore the vibrant city of Warsaw, immersing ourselves in its rich history, culture, and landmarks. Our fantastic and knowledgeable guide, Pawel Szczerkowski, provided fascinating insights, enhancing the overall experience.
We walked the streets of Warsaw to conclude our tour at the restaurant where we had a joint dinner and enjoyed Polish cuisine (and a lot of it!). It worked perfectly to unwind and connect on a personal level. Laughter filled the air as we enjoyed delicious food and engaging conversations.
Our meeting was a perfect blend of laughter and learning, as we exchanged ideas, shared experiences, and built lasting relationships. It was a testimony to the vibrant community spirit and collective dedication to Fertility Europe’s mission.
Overall, the members meeting in Warsaw was a resounding success, energising and reinforcing our commitment to driving positive change through Fertility Europe’s initiatives.
