About European Fertility Week

European Fertility Week (EFW), established in 2016 and held annually during the first full week of November, is a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about fertility, infertility, and the far-reaching implications of involuntary childlessness. Its mission is not only to inform the public but also to highlight the personal and societal challenges faced by individuals experiencing infertility and involuntary childlessness, while emphasising the importance of early and comprehensive education to empower people to make informed decisions about their reproductive health. The initiative also advocates for equal access to safe and effective fertility treatments, psychosocial care, systemic support, and inclusive regulations to ensure no one is left behind.

Each year, the campaign focuses on a specific theme, which is explored in depth to identify critical gaps and propose solutions that can improve support systems and outcomes for those affected.

EFW events take place on social media, hosted by Fertility Europe and national associations, as well as events organised by member associations in their respective countries.
